The love cap (which was launched last February 2024) celebrated its first anniversary this year. As a way of giving back to the program's avid supporters, 10 winners were picked from the heart bin where plastic caps were dropped. The winners were given flowers and cakes. The funds used for prizes were proceeds from the collected recyclable plastics (Shoot the Bottle Program) and saleable wastes from the recycling program of the Environmental Management Unit (EMU). This activity is aligned to the project's initiatives aiming to instill the importance of recycling and reuse to reduce the volume of wastes brought to landfills. ADJV EMU continues to spearhead the "No to Single-Use Plastics" and strongly advocates recycling to set as a model to other NSCR project contractors.
