The Malolos – Clark Railway Project (MCRP) is the second section of the Philippine Government’s new railway linking Tutuban in Manila with the International Airport at Clark City Pampanga. CP N-02 consists of the Civil Engineering and Building works for 15.5 km of precast segmental box girder bridge, one extradosed bridge (80m + 140m + 80m), three balanced cantilever bridges (2nos 50m + 70m + 50m and 1no 60m + 100m + 60m), one steel bridge (60m length) and approximately 350m of cast in-situ bridges. The elevated station is situated at the city of San Fernando.

In San Fernando station superstructure updates. Steel columns are nearly complete, which is a strong backbone milestone. Beams and secondary structures are lagging behind at 57.08%. Roof structure is past halfway, but its pace will depend on beam progress since they’re interdependent.

Meanwhile, construction progress update at Extradosed Bridge (BR105). Bored piles are nearly complete with only 9 remaining, which is a strong breakthrough. Pier P-663 column concrete is closed out, marking a key structural step. Pile hacking at P-662 is ongoing, so coordination with follow-up works (reinforcement and concrete) will be important to keep momentum.

In San Fernando station superstructure updates. Steel columns are well developed, compelling evidence that vertical load-bearing elements are stabilizing the structures. Steel coating and fireproofing remain pending – this is critical for safety compliance and should be scheduled soon after column completion. Beams and secondary structures are improving, but still below 50%. And lastly, roof structure is marginally ahead of beams, which suggest parallel work streams but may require careful sequencing to avoid rework.

Meanwhile, construction progress update at Extradosed Bridge (BR105). Bored piles are past the halfway mark, which is a strong milestone for foundation stability. Pile cap concreting at pier P-663 shows integration of piles into the superstructure load path – a critical step before column erection. Sheet pile driving is progressing side by side, which helps maintain excavation safety and allows simultaneous foundation works in multiple areas.

North-South Commuter Railway Extension (NSCR-EX) Project
In San Fernando station structural progress, steel columns are well advanced, nearing completion of their erection phase. Beams and secondary structures are lagging behind, less than halfway complete. While roof structure is progressing steadily, slightly ahead of beams but still under 50%.

At the same time, construction progress update at Extradosed Bridge (BR105), 26 out of 52 piles successfully completed (≈ 50% progress). With work quality confirmed and aligned with specifications. Pier P-663 is near pile capping stage and preparations underway for transition to superstructure works. And on the other side, pier P-660 and P661 are currently in preparation phase for bored piling activities. Mobilization of equipment and site layout ongoing.
